I am administrator of a 6/9 remote desktop that run KDE 3.5 via NX connection. I deployed this solution mainly for Kontact and browsing. All on a xen opensuse domU. The main reasons that prevent me to update to actual KDE SC are kprinter with kfax, some crashes using Plasma over NX and because i'm waithing for akonadi based KDEPIM. Years ago via Debian stable, now Kubuntu. They're used by students, research stuff but also power some fancy systems running on Segways and autonomous vehicles.
